NJAR® Educational Foundation Awards $55,750 in Scholarships!

On June 18, 2008, the NJAR® Educational Foundation (NJAREF) awarded 37 students with a total of $55,750 in scholarships to use towards furthering their education. Scholarships this year ranged from $1,000 to $2,500 and were presented to recipients at a ceremony at the Westwood in Garwood, N.J. Click here to see a list of recipients and to read more.

About NJAREF

NJAREF offers annual scholarships to help students meet the costs of higher education. Criteria for selection include academic achievements, financial need, interest in real estate endeavors, and contributions to family, school and communities.

Students are eligible for a NJAREF scholarship if they are a high school senior who will be attending an undergraduate four-year institution, currently enrolled in an undergraduate four-year institution or pursuing graduate studies in real estate or allied fields.

Applicants must be a member, or a relative of a member of NJAR® or a local state association/board staff who resides in New Jersey. Eligibility for the William J. Carlton, Jr. award is limited to a child of a member of NJAR® who is a resident of Mercer, Middlesex or Somerset counties.

Following is an approximate timeline of the application and selection process:

  • December - scholarship applications available
  • April - scholarship applications due
  • May - selected applicant interviews
  • June - annual scholarship awards luncheon

Make a Contribution

Scholarships are financed through donations made by local boards and associations of REALTORS®, and other foundations. Many local boards/associations make donations in memory or honor of those who have passed.
