Information on Renting

REALTORS® do more than help people buy and sell real estate. REALTORS® also assist those seeking to rent a home or apartment or who would like to list their property for rent.

Click here to find rental property or to find a REALTOR® to list your rental unit.

REALTORS® can help guide renters through the process of finding a home, apartment, office or even vacation property rental that best fits their needs. Contact a REALTOR® in your area to learn more about available rentals.

REALTORS® should also be the first point of contact for property owners, landlords and property managers who are looking for tenants to rent their units. REALTORS® can help set an appropriate rate for rent, and market and show the property to prospective renters.

The ninth edition of the "Truth in Renting" guide is now available online through the Department of Community Affairs, Division of Codes and Standards. The guide, which is now available at no cost, includes an outline of the various laws and responsibilities that apply to tenants and landlords in New Jersey. Landlords are responsible for disseminating the booklet to tenants upon entering into a lease.
