Selling a home can be a daunting task. There are many steps involved to complete a transaction such as making sure a home is priced right, prepped for sale, and marketed to buyers properly. REALTORS® play an integral role in helping sellers navigate this process. According to the New Jersey Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers 89 percent of sellers used an agent or broker to sell their home in 2007. See below for some tips and ways REALTORS® can help you sell your home.

  • A REALTOR® should be a seller's first point-of-contact
    REALTORS® are professionals who can help guide property owners through pricing, marketing, financing, negotiating and closing on a home. REALTORS® abide by a strict Code of Ethics and commit to treating all parties involved in a real estate transaction honestly.  A recent survey revealed that 21 percent of New Jersey sellers want help marketing their home to potential buyers.

  • Ask your REALTOR® if it's the right time to sell
    REALTOR® can help sellers evaluate current market conditions to decide if it's a good time to sell. REALTORS® can suggest ways to improve a home's property value and make clients aware of issues that may impact a sale.

  • REALTORS® can help set the right price
    REALTORS® have access to local market and home sales/price information that is a vital part in helping homeowners set a realistic price for their house.  In fact, 24 percent of New Jersey sellers indicated they want the assistance from a professional to help price their home competitively, according to a 2007 report.

  • Use a REALTOR® to guide you through a closing
    REALTORS® can help clients with the inspections and paperwork needed to finalize a sale.
