NJAR® CEO to Speak at HMFA Seminar
Real estate professionals and lenders are invited to a two-day seminar on September 15 and 16, 2010 at the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) office in Trenton. NJAR® Chief Executive Officer Jarrod C. Grasso, RCE will speak on September 16th. Registration for the Thursday, September 16 seminar will begin at noon. The seminar will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m., and will conclude at approximately 4:00 p.m. Registration for the Wednesday, September 15 seminar will begin at 9:00 a.m. The seminar will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m., and will conclude at approximately noon.
With the exception of Jarrod Grasso’s presentation, HMFA representatives will cover the same topics on the 15th and 16th. This includes an overview of First-Time Homebuyer Programs, Smart Start, Live Where You Work, and the critical changes to underwriting guidelines. Therefore, attendees only need to register for one seminar, either Sept. 15th or 16th.
The office is located at 637 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton, N.J. Please RSVP to Ed Collins, Lender Outreach and Marketing Coordinator at ecollins@njhmfa.state.nj.us by September 10, 2010. Due to limited seating, we ask that you please include the names of each attendee from your company with your registration.

National Association Posts Webinar on Upcoming HAFA Program
The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) has posted a webinar on its short sales webpage to give REALTORS® more details about the Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives Program (HAFA) that took effect April 5, 2010. For homeowners unable to retain their home through the HAMP loan modification program, HAFA offers the possibility that they will still be able to avoid foreclosure with a short sale or a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure. The webinar provides an overview, but REALTORS® who will sell property covered by the HAFA program will need to become very familiar with the process and the forms that will govern the transaction.
